Wine tasting is a joy on its own—but when expertly paired with food, each sip can transform into something extraordinary. At Willamette Valley Wine Country Tours, we specialize in creating unforgettable, worry-free experiences—and for us, that includes visiting wineries where culinary craftsmanship meets world-class winemaking.
Here are a few of our favorite Willamette Valley stops where the food and wine pairings are worth slowing down for, starting with one that takes the experience to another level:
Overall Winner: Open Claim Vineyards
If you’re looking for the ultimate food and wine pairing experience in Oregon wine country, Open Claim should be at the very top of your list.
Pairings aren’t an afterthought here—they’re the whole point. This by-reservation-only experience is intentionally intimate, elevating wine tasting into something truly exceptional. You and your group can choose between two settings: their cozy, elegant tasting room in McMinnville or their private estate in the Eola-Amity Hills.
Both options include a guided culinary journey where each pour is matched with beautifully plated small bites, crafted by a private chef just for your table. Expect thoughtful seasonal ingredients, exceptional hospitality, and plenty of "wow" moments as each pairing is explained and served tableside. It’s not just a tasting—it’s a seated, sensory experience that unfolds like a story.
We’ve had many incredible tastings in the Willamette Valley, but Open Claim consistently delivers the most refined and welcoming pairing service we’ve encountered.

Most Family-Friendly: Stomp
For a totally different—but equally delightful—pairing experience, head to Stomp, a laid-back gem tucked along the river with one of the most welcoming atmospheres in the valley.
This small tasting room surprises and delights with its casual charm. The outdoor deck overlooks an orchard filled with picnic tables, lawn games, and plenty of space for kids (and grown-ups) to play and roam. It’s hands-down the most family-friendly winery we’ve visited—and a favorite for relaxed afternoons with friends.
Stomp’s food offerings are as inviting as the setting. We always love wood-fired pizza, but the menu goes well beyond that, with a rotating selection of seasonal soups, salads, and snacks that pair beautifully with their approachable wines. On weekends, you’ll often find food trucks parked by the orchard and live music playing in the background.
For members, the perks go beyond the tasting room: private hiking trails, river floats, and special events like trivia nights create a strong sense of community and fun.
Whether you're in the mood for a casual slice and sip, or a day of play with the whole family, Stomp delivers one of the most enjoyable food-and-wine pairing experiences in the Willamette Valley—with zero pretense and tons of heart.

Best Value: St. Innocent
A quick turn off I-5 just south of Enchanted Forest, St. Innocent Winery proves that you don’t need to venture far off the beaten path to find something special. Tucked quietly beside the much larger Willamette Valley Vineyards, this spot is often overlooked—but for those in the know, it’s a true gem.
Despite its easy freeway access, the setting is peaceful and unhurried. On one of our visits, we even spotted a bald eagle soaring overhead—a moment that perfectly captured the calm, natural beauty of the space.
What makes St. Innocent stand out for us is their reasonably priced food and wine pairing experience, which combines comfort, value, and deep wine knowledge. Their pairings offer thoughtful bites that elevate the wines without overwhelming the experience, making it approachable whether you're a casual drinker or an aspiring sommelier.
Fridays are an especially good time to visit: you might be treated to the aroma of wood-fired pizza as part of their rotating seasonal offerings.
"Vint-nerds" are in for a treat. Tastings here often include detailed tableside presentations that dig into the nuances of soil, climate, and winemaking philosophy behind each pour. It's like a mini masterclass with every glass—and one of the reasons we love bringing more inquisitive guests to this spot.
St. Innocent is the kind of winery that quietly overdelivers, making it one of our favorite stops for both flavor and education.

Best Pizza: Left Coast Estate
No food and wine guide to the Willamette Valley would be complete without a stop at Left Coast Estate—a sprawling 463-acre property that seamlessly blends vineyard, winery, and working farm into one unforgettable experience.
Known for its biodynamic practices and commitment to sustainability, Left Coast is one of the most popular destinations in the valley—and with good reason. Even on busy weekends, their team offers genuinely warm and attentive service that makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another visitor.
Their bistro-style tasting room offers a full food menu sourced largely from their own farm and gardens, but we’ll be honest: we rarely make it past the pizza. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with their estate wines, it's arguably the best pizza in the valley—and one of the main reasons we keep coming back.
Guests can enjoy their meal under the shady pergola, inside the airy tasting room, or out on the expansive lawn dotted with majestic oaks. For those looking to walk off their tasting flight, there’s even a scenic hiking trail that winds through the property.
Whether you're coming for the wine, the food, or the atmosphere, Left Coast Estate delivers a little bit of everything—thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and rooted in the land itself.

Honorable Mention: Coleman Estate
While Coleman Estate is best known among insiders for producing what we consider the best Pinot Noir in the valley, it earns a special spot on this list for its unforgettable seasonal winter fondue experience.
Tucked away and often under the radar, this hidden gem transforms into a cozy retreat during the colder months. With a reservation, guests are welcomed into the barrel room, where a roaring fireplace sets the tone for an intimate tasting. The star of the show? A fondue and wine pairing that combines rich, warming bites with their elegant estate wines.
It’s the kind of winter wine country experience that feels exclusive, relaxed, and downright magical—and the perfect way to enjoy Oregon Pinot when the weather turns cold.

A Winery We’re Excited About: Coria Estates
If you’re chasing views and vino, put Coria Estates at the top of your list. With breathtaking 360-degree views of the Willamette Valley, this family-owned estate has always been a favorite for a scenic, unhurried tasting—but now, there’s even more reason to visit.
Coria recently unveiled a renovated kitchen and welcomed a new in-house chef, marking a bold step into the culinary spotlight. They’re now offering full meals that are thoughtfully designed to pair with their estate-grown wines, and the results are impressive.
Whether you’re planning a leisurely brunch with friends or craving a fun, flavorful Taco Tuesday, Coria delivers a food-and-wine experience that’s as delicious as it is relaxed. The vibe is upscale yet unpretentious, with a focus on celebrating community, flavor, and the natural beauty of the land.
We’re genuinely excited to see how this culinary chapter evolves—and highly recommend making a stop soon while they’re still flying just slightly under the radar.
